Picturesque and bustling Romsey

Romsey lies on the River Test, a historic market town with medieval streets that wrap around the magnificent Norman abbey.

As well as being a great place to visit for its attractions and history, Romsey is home to many thriving independent retailers, cafes and restaurants as well as its own department store - Bradbeers - in addition to some more well known household name stores.

There are designer boutiques selling clothing, shoes and accessories, alongside stores specialising in antiques, books, homewares, crafts, flowers and gifts. You'll also find traditional grocers and butchers, as well as the usual high street offerings.

There are weekly markets on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and Romsey hosts the Hampshire Farmers Markets once a month on the first Sunday of each month.

Keep a look out for other events throughout the year, such as the historic Romsey Agricultural Show and the Winter Festival and Christmas Lights Switch On.

There is plenty of short and long stay parking at locations around the town. For Test Valley Borough Council managed car parks, charges apply between 8.30am and 4pm daily apart from Sundays and bank holidays, when parking is free all day.  Other car parks operated privately will have alternative operating times and charges. Please check signage carefully for charges, terms and conditions when you park.
